Where were you and what were you doing when the blackout happened 2 years ago?

I was at work. As I walked through Flushing's center, aka Queens Chinatown, I saw chinese woman selling flashlights. I bought one and it was very helpful.
It was interesting, I never thought something like this can happen in our country.
I heard people were on the streets, walking around, getting drinks at bars.
Its nice to know that I've witnessed something that later will probably appear in history books.

I was at home at the time, having one of the most important conversations with my borther who was working in Manhatten at the time. We suddenly got cut off and a min later he called me back to tell me the the whole east coast was out.....I waited outside 'till 10pm when he came home by foot....from 42st.

I was at work in downtown manhattan. Walked down 31 flights of stairs because I didnt want to take a chance with the elevators. I thought it was the 1st phase of a major terrorist attack, I totally freaked out. Then attempted to take my usuall express bus home, but the bus got stuck in midtown right off the FDR. I decided to leave the bus, bought 3 liters of Fuji water and walked from 34th street all the way to forest hills :). Took 5 and a half hours.

grocery shopping for shabbat, when all the lights went off and the registors closed with an exception of one in the corner. Then I quickly paid, and drove home with my mom. That evening was like no other thursday evening, we cooked, cleaned and waited for the rest of the family to get home safely.

Here is my story....On the day of the blackout, I was at the anatomy lab. This was an interesting scene, since for some very perculiar reason, anatomy labs never have windows to outside (thankfully they have vents, or otherwise I'd be dead from that smell). Anyways when the blackout happened the anatomy lab was pitch black, and we all had knifes in our hand (talking about the opportunity to kill). I remember the first thing that the proffessor said was "put knifes down." Then it turns out that the toolbox at each table has a flashlight (which we never even knew existed until that day), and we had to find it by touch only.

Anyways, this was a year in a long time that we missed the next day's anatomy class because of blackout (therefore were not responsible for next day's information on the test).
