Natasha 11-01-2005, 12:11 PM Ladies and gentleman I have a very peculiar question.
There is a number of people of my acquaintance who absolutely cannot use a public rest room. In fact, they go to great lengths to get home to use a familiar toilet when an emergency situation occurs. Most of these people have issues with using a public bathroom when needing to do Number 2.
Some extreme cases I've heard:
Case 1.
Driving up to Queens College early and finding a great parking spot, walking half way to one's class when the desire to use the facilities sailed along. This individual went back to the car, drove all the way home to do what needs to be done, knowing that when he/she returns it to QC it would take a while to find any parking spot at all.
Case 2.
Leaving a party where one is the guest of honor to make a 10 minute run to one's house to use the facilities and quickly return to the party, hoping one's absence went unnoticed.
Do you think this is common? ridiculous? sick? or normal?

I used to be like that. Life makes you change. This is totally normal for clean freaks, that are afraid of contaminated public toilets. However, healthwise it is not good, you are killing your bladder. Halachicly it is also not permissible. A person is considered disgusting when he is not emptying out his/her wastes. You can't make a blessing or pray in that state.

Exactly!!! Believe it or not, birds are the most halahikly correct beings in this respect. I like the slogan, "Never hold it in - Let it out with all the freedom that was bestowed upon you" :tongue10:

If that mumbo jumbo about a bird's poop bringing wealth and luck were true I'd be the luckiest wealthly woman alive, today. For some reason I am a magnet to bird poop.

It only happened to me once. It was actually a funny story. I was standing in the front yard with my cousins, uncle, and brother. I was speaking with my cousin, while my brother was throwing leaves into the air. I felt something hit my head, so I kinda overreacted and yelled at my brother. He tried convincing me that he didn't do anything. Then I asked, "What else could it be then?" I tried getting the "leaf" out of my hair. It was like this soft mushy brown stuff. I stood there and said, "Hmmm, I wonder what it could be." Then I realized and everyone heard me scream, "Ewwwwwwww."
My uncle kept telling me how it was a great bracha. He promised me I would be very rich one day, and then I would remember his words.
Needless to say, I still had droppings in my hair.

This may be funny to you but a real concern to others. Look at the poor souls I mentioned above. Can you imagine the discomfort they must have felt to go to such great lengths to get themselves home and into their own bathrooms?
