supposed to have a final today but its been postponed. my dad didnt go to work.
The MTA union is gonna get slapped with a huge fine for this strike!

I totally agree. I don't know why they still trying to negotiate with them. I took LIRR this morning (which took an hour on a line to buy a ticket) and then had to walk 20 blocks.

my cousin dropped me off to midtown:) and we picked up one Persian Guy who thanked us many times :)
so there are nice people in the CITY:)

Today -- telecommuting.

my company provides vans for free :) poluchaetsya oni pachkautsya:) plus eshe bossi pizza zakazali but since i eat kosher no pizza for me:)

I always try to get reimbursed for every penny I spend or suppose to spend for my commute. Instead of trying to push myself through the traffic into the city, I am working from home today. And my company better reimburse me for this commute cost :innoc04:

You can request that they order a kosher lunch. They usually accomodate people who eat kosher. You should definitely ask them. It was not convenient for you to make it to work this morning just like any other employee at your company so you should also be rewarded for coming in despite the inconvenience. And people are really nice and considerate when you request a kosher meal. Just ask.

I drove to work from Brooklyn to Long Island city. It was not bad after 11 am. Going back though is going to be harder. :(

Driving.

I drove to Midtown and parked my car in the garage. Had to be in the grad school by 9 am to take a final and then take another final at 12. Thank G-d the traffic was smooth on LI Exp and midtown tunnel. Now have to get back to Queens and give finals to my students. :D Anyone needs a ride back to Queens?
