Function is very important but the weight for me is also very important. I can't carry around a huge laptop with high speed. Viao laptops are the lightest I have seen.
Dell laptops are heavy and bulky. What do you think about this one?

sony Laptop have sleak design, excellent laptops, abit pricy tough, but it's well worth it! every penny you spend on it make sure u get something "wireles build in" so u can surfe internet outside home or school for no cost to you, and depening on what u will mostly do gaming or just internet usage specify your needs and go for higher video card at laast 128 MB of video card and RAM get at least 512 MB of RAM. Stay away fromCeleron proccesors they are not good for high end users. of course they will build according to yoiur taste.
G'Luck!

My preference in terms of performance, looks and weight lie with the IBM T43, which has that built in wireless technology, fingerprint identification for the log in, and high durability.

I don't think that Dell or any other lap top deserve the same attention as this IBM machine. Although, I would say that Dell has better desktop computers.

Sony has a very nice laptop lineup, but a lot of people tend to overpay for Sony's brand image. If you are price conscious and want to save a little I would advise you look at Toshiba's laptops. Toshiba is one the leaders in the laptop market and their laptops are just as slick.

Personally I have Dell's 700m, which weight roughly four and a half pounds. Like you I wanted a light computer, cause when you have to carry it around every extra pound counts. Unfortunately Dell doesn’t have any retail outlets with an exception to a small kiosk at the basement level in the Queens Center mall. Dell machines are not known for their cuteness but for their reliability and prices (among the cheapest when compared to other brands.

I will probably get a dell, because it is the most affordable and light.
