Я не думаю что ето связано с интелектом. Он может быть достаточно образованым и умным и в то же время поднимать руку на женшину. В то же время он может бить тупым, как ты выразилась, но не позволять себе етого делать. Так в чем же может быть причина?

В каждом из нас сидит зверь которий ждёт возможности выбраться наружу когда его разозлят. Некоторые в состоянии его удержать а некоторые нет. Я думаю что культура играет в етом деле большую роль чем интеллект. Некоторые считают ето нормальным явлением побить жену, а некоторые ето делают в крайнем случае или никогда. У русских есть много пословиц на ету тему: "Недосол на столе, пересол на спине", "Бьёт значит любит" etc.

Now, why would they even want to hurt anyone, in the first place? That tends to come from lack of self control. Due to frustration, which results from lack of the ability to verbalize/express one's point of view. Person actually feels helpless in the situation and because he/she feels that she cannot or won't be able to "get through" to the other person/(usually the victim) he/she tries to convince by force.

and the solution would be to learn to express yourself verbally and develop patience.
