It depends on a situation. However, being defended feels nice.

Does the fact that the person is your friend automatically mean that the person knows how to defend you?

Having said that, a friend is supposed to think good about you and, therefore, assume good about you. So a natural reaction by a friend is, in my opinion, to defend you and your position, provided it has no ethical interference with his/her own. Even if it does, I'd expect from a friend to assume good about me and/or my position.

This doesn't necessarily mean, however, that he/she has to defend it with everybody -- who says that a particular somebody deserves to be given time and attention to explain anything about me and/or my position by my friend to this somebody? :)

Konechno doljno. But the point of the posts is to see people responses to your questions. But answering my question with a question, doesn't really help me. I know what I would do, I just wanna know what other people would do also!!!!

I would defend myself.
I was in this kind of situation, and i was with more than one "friend" and not even one of them stood up for me. Obviously i had to stand up for myself. Bilo ochen' obidno chto ni kto ne zastupilsya.

Tssipa, I 100% agree with you. But what if you don't have a chance to defend yourself?

Jewishguy, I would be very upset at my friend, and from that point on, ya bydy znat' emy tzeny. A real friend doesn't do that. I would not stop talking to that person but I would just know, chto etot chelovek iz sebya predstavlyaet. He/she is gonna be downgraded very quickly in my book of friends.

Since there is a possibility that I may be wrong in my stance, I would wait until the 'truth' came out. If I ended up being right, my friend will have to hear a shpiel from me...otherwise, budu molchat'. :)

1) I'll try to stend up for myself
2) As for my friend, I'll know him better.
