QueenofLilies 02-13-2006, 05:13 PM While going to school, generally or college/university...we are forced to take courses that either fill our requirments for our major or are courses we wish we never had to take. What course do you wish was offered in school or what do you wish to learn of more about?

alik_05 02-13-2006, 05:20 PM heberew 101 not always offered in many universities.
there is latin 101, black studies 101, science 101, art, economics, history, etc. except for hebrew! arent we people like the rest of the society?
why dont the university offer these courses? simple fact is they want to ignore our history.

lol, sorry Alik-jon, maybe because these courses are too easy and the material is intertwined and introduced at the same time in the harder courses

well it maybe easy from our own prespectives, but if a person knows nothing about Judaism and who especially is not a jewish would that course help him or her somehow?
they way i've experienced is all these intro courses lets a person be open minded to other cultures, hey why not Judaisn 101?

I wish to learn more about everything and anything really. I find it all quite interesting.
If I were to teach a class, that's what I'd do. Ask each individual what sparks their curiosity, propose that they go out and learn about it to their little hearts content, then have each student present a most fascinating presentation about their topic.
My present topic of interest is feminism.

I admire your generalism and flexibility. It's rare that people take an interest in anything out there
