I think we were pretty lucky to have Zion Ozeri, the photographer and the author of the Bukharian exhibit show us around. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the bukharian culture, and his ideas and mentality overall. I think that what he does through his work, is bring people of very different traditions and backgrounds together. Very interesting man.

It was a great experience. The exhibition Bukharian Odyssey was awesome. There were pictures of some familiar places. I saw a picture of the inside of our synagogue (the one on the Gorbunov street) in Tashkent in one of those pictures; I took a shot of it :).

It was an intresting experience, the photographs reminded me of many things; the houses, the lifestyle and the people. The tour guide and the photographer himself was amazing, and had intresting viewpoint on bukharian lifestyle. For anyone who hasn't come really missed out, however, for those who have missed it a panaramic view of the exibit will be available soon. :happy34:

The virtual tour of the Bukharian Odessey is here, while its not a real thing, its small taste of what to expect for those who missed it. You can find the virtual tour here (http://geocities.com/gimli3989/Bukharian_Odessey.html). You can use Ctrl and Shift keys to zoom out and in and use the mouse to look around the room. Please be patient as the tour loads and will also require getting quicktime to view it, which can be found here (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/win.html)for download if you already don't have it. If you're having any problems feel free to pm me.:happy65:

:charac32: This was an interesting photo display. However, it seemed that all these people on the photos were from 50s-60s. I am a bit surprised that these are recent photos from Central Asia.
