I think that in todays world it is definitely an option worth trying. There are millions and millions of guys and girls spending time by their computer while at work or doing homework, paying bills, playing games, etc. and chat while doing what they need to do. Today, we depend on the internet for almost everything (grocery shopping, clothes shopping, bridal/baby registries, banking, paying bills, correspondence via e-mail, etc.) It only seems natural that people will "meet" and chat and become friends and potentially more. Also, there are a lot of sites, including Boojle, offer dating services. It is definitely worth a try. People meet their mates in strange and different ways. So whatever works for you is worth trying.

I think she meant meeting people thru the net. Not dating strictly thru the internet..

I think the web is a God send for people to have a better chance at meeting the person they are best suited for. Unlike phonecalls, if someone is simply annoying online, its easier to get rid of them without having to feel much guilt or get a bad reputation. Online people don't have much to lose, only to gain as I see it.

The way I see it is that it is fine to meet people online, just to see if this is possibly the type of person you would like to meet and fits your personal preferences and "qualifications". I do not support the idea of people knowing each other very well and not having to have talked once on the phone...many people just see each other pics and go from there and try to make it serious. Online impressions are significantly different than real life impressions

i totally agree you have to get out and date the old fashioned way face to face. Theres so much more to dating than talking on chatrooms and sharing pics. But i guess its fine to "meet" someone online, the key thing is to move on from the online level asap if you are interested to date that person.
