I took Spanish from the 6th grade up to my senior year in high school, took the regents exam and got a 97% on it :). Today I do a better job understanding than speaking in Spanish. If I only knew Hebrew this way, I would appreciate i more. I wouldn't mind learning Hebrew and Italian..

I studied Uzbek and German when I was in school.
Then I switched to English when I came to US. Once I master my English, I want to learn Hebrew and Spanish.

So what are you waiting for??? Hebrew classes started already!

I think that Hebrew is easy to study than English.

I myself would like to study Spanish. If i am not mistaken it is a second language in the world.

In Tashkent, I learned Uzbek and Russian in school and Bukharian at home. When I came to US, I went to a jewish school and learned Hebrew for 6yrs (I had to learn Hebrew before i learn English). When I went to Highschool I took 1yr of French which I forgot because I didn't use it, and I also took 3month of Spanish. I started taking Japanees but I ran away from the 1st week. lol

English 4th grade and beyond -> speak/write/read very well.
Spanish grade 8-10 -> can understand but not speak, forgot most of it.
Hebrew grade 11 -> just know a couple of phrases, forgot most of it.

Actually Spanish is the 2nd language in the USA, not the world. Because we have so many latin americans and mexican illegals everywhere packing the welfare offices, they had no choice but to make it the 2nd language.. By the way, in 25 years, the majority ethnicity in the USA will be Hispanic. :(

I refer to Yidish as the "mamzer" language. Its a bastard child slang that is a cross between German and Hebrew.. Its a total turn off for me when I hear old ashkenazis speak it.. :smoke:

I know you weren't really teasing. At least half this website needs some serious ESL courses prior to thinking about taking up any foreign language.. :smoke:

Making spelling typos and seriously needing ESL is very different... I can tell your not one of those who would need an ESL course, so please keep the mockery to yourself. :fight61:

It's not about mockery, it's out about helping each other out to improve in our weaker links. For most of us English is not the 1st language, thus, it's perfectly fine to make mistakes. Trust me, I am not that type of person to mock and make fun of people....
