Today we salute you: stressed out college student during exams week. As you sit in your lonely cubical in the library, doped up on starbucks and aderol,
you think to yourself, am I ever going to need to know this stuff in life?
The distractions are tempting and you have suddenly diagnosed yourself with
ADD along with advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary
narcissistic rage. I'm sure by now you know exactly what everyone is doing
because you have checked your buddy list 800 times. Summer break is just
days away, and your prozac prescription will be in tomorrow. So crack open
an ice cold bud light after that last exam, because for most of us the
summer will be spent in rehab.

GOOD LUCK
with your finals guys.

see ya in the summer

you've asked a good question,
As it happens i asked proffessor of mine who is a CPA and has a PHD, "am I ever going to need to know this stuff in life" he said what ever you learn in accounting field you will only apply it 10% in your real life, make's me wonder what is it all worth it for, i guess just for the CPA exam.

May be in accounting you dont get to apply what you learn in class, but I find much of what I've learned in psychology classes or pretty much all the classes I took is applicable. If not directly, but it all fits nicely into contributing to who I am today.

I think in order to be intelligent and well rounded individual, we have to learn about different theories, practical approaches, ideas, math prblems. It all contributes to your foundation, to your base of knowledge that will help you make decisions and be more open-minded.

That's because in accounting courses you mostly need to apply memory, and a limited amount of understanding. When you go out and face the real world one day, that's when you can apply your basic knowledge and grow from there. Believe me Alik, I know. I am an accounting major and work in a CPA Firm...2 different experiences honey.
