I disagree with you on this. Since cancer was first identified, cancer treatment has improved as a whole, and today we have better treatment for most cancer than we ever did (i'm not saying that the treatment is perfect, but it is still better than we had before). Do we need improvement? Sure!!!! Do we have to look for new avenues of treament and try to improve early identification and treatment? Definately!!! However, this does not mean that ACS does not follow their mission statement.

This is a normal process, and unfortunately allows bashing room for individuals like Trudeau, yourself and others. Secondly, the system won't allow anything to be termed "cure", because the system has twisted the definition of cure into meaning: "a compound that can by itself solely, completely erradicate the indicated disease in 100% of patients treated". With that definition, nothing in the world can and will be applicable. Even the best cures will not guarantee 100% efficacy in EVERY PATIENT especially without a combination approach to the illness...With such a definition for "cure" big pharma has guaranteed itself that there will never be a cure found!! Todays pharma tactics cant be compared to the old days when morals and ethics existed to a certain degree. Bacteria were obvious invaders in immuno-suppressed bodies that allowed for their multiplication. They became the immediate enemies when they really weren't, it was the host body that was immune compromised. But either way, yes sometimes bacteria can cause stubborn infections and Pharma had no choice but to come up with a solution. Unlike viruses that need host cells to either lay dormant in or use to replicate further, bacterial infections are very acute, and highly destructive. You either wipe it out completely or you cant, no middle area. Antibiotics were bound to be developed. I wouldnt call them cures, I would call them sanitizers/sterilizers. They are the equivalent of throwing a nuclear bomb on manhattan to kill a few terrorists somewhere on 5th avenue. Today we have REAL illness epidemics that are NOT INFECTIVE and they are on the RISE! Surgery isn't a cure, its a PATHETIC LAST RESORT, and all it does is remove an organ when there are problems at the biochemical, cellular level. The problem WILL RECURR AGAIN, but the butchers needed immediate relief, so they obvioulsy remove the suffering and afflicted organ/area. That is PRIMITIVE medicine. Remove the symptom once again, instead of knock out the root..By the way, removing a tumor doesn't cure cancer.
