Just thought we would get a list going of all the things parents and grandparents had when you were growing up, that left the most memories.

My parents, just as my great aunts, and grandparents- Have a Grandfathers clock. (not really my grand fathers clock but that's what its called in english)

This tall wood clock that rings and has a coo-coo bird setting on it too ;)

They bought this one in the states, but the ones we had in former USSR were cooler for some reason.

Did your family have one as well? Or was it just a Fergana thing? :)

Also a fig tree in the back yard, and I also remember lots and lots of diffrent grape trees growing all over our yard. My grandfather and my uncle used to make wine.

Feel free to add anything else you may remember to the list.

haha I remember helping my mom and aunts slice chickens throats and pluck them for any holidays/birthdays/weddings they would have. I used to like taking out the eggs that weren't fully developped and cook them ( now it sounds sickening) but back then it was the coolest thing..

Also live fish, we used to cut up and clean off and fry. I miss that too..

BTW this is what a grandfathers clock looks like just in case you're not too familiar.

This one is German though, we had one made out of OAK I don't remember if it was German or not though, but it was definately bigger than this one.

My grandpa was a taylor when he was alive; and my mom brought his big scissors, a knife sharpener also used for scissors (it's like a heavy rectangle stone), and a fur coat that he made for my grandma. there's more things i can't remember them right now.

YUM! :) - my fig tree in tashkent was primarily mine when i was little so i especially like figs, and then we had other fruit trees too
There are fig trees growing around Israel, since it's one of the sheva minim that is particular to the land, but you dont see them too often in NY.
