Как Вы думаете какои метод образования лучше, советскии или американскии, и почему ви так думаете?

For primary education (everything up to end of HS) I think the soviet system was stronger. Teachers seemed better trained, control was evident, and teaching was more effective.

For college and beyond, I think the system here is better. I like the college experience and think the soviets really missed out on liberal arts and simple "broadening of the horizon's" education. Plus there are more options here and although one has to pay to get an education I think the pay is well worth it.

Educational system here on all levels can be summarized into one word - BUSINESS, especially when it comes to higher education.

Nyd, performance of people in colleges depends on the quality of education they get on lower levels. And highschools here are just terrible to say the least. To do well in college you either have to be a foreign student who got superior education in his/ her country or go to expensive private school here. Everyone else will have a tough time.
