some person using the smile_ville@ something account keeps sending me emails. this is someone jewish and i am guessing someone who knows me. it is REALLY anoying...any ideas who this is?

I started getting those emails too...annoying indeed.

those spammers.
if you do not like unsolicited humor, block the sender email and forget it.

I got a few, but I never opened it, thought it was BS so I just deleted it without opening it, and stopped getting them.

its not about that...i could have just spammed the person and thats it, but the point is that this person is one of us...it is someone that knows all of us and that we are jewish...

i told the person that if he/she doesnt want to give me their name and where they got my email from, they should stop messaging me, and the person replied saying okay...

weirdo...people need something better to do with their time

i got three of them so far. i gotta say, it kind of feels good that someone out there thinks about me and putting a smile on my face. it makes the day even better than it is already. as for who it is, i tried to guess but didnt succeed. i guess they just want to stay anonymous. after all, if they wanted us to know, they would have told us. i dont think it's a junk mail type of thing. its from someone who seems to know a lot of my friends too.

and an even weirder thing is that my friends and i dont get the same one and dont get it on the same day. :)

yea...i discussed this with the person too...apparently the person writes a separate one for everyone...

i am not denying that this person is doing a "good" thing, but she/he should at least let people know that she/he plans on doing this...and if asked for who she is or where she got my email, i want to know...

i never get emails from this person :).. i guess its someone who knows all of YOU but not ME :tongue12: :tongue12:

I think I have a guess of who this could be since there are so many people that are on this forum who get these types of emails and I gave my email only to very few people on this forum, so I think I have an idea who it is. However, I am not going to say who, since I'm not positively...and besides good thing I have the delete and block features ;). But this is a nice concept if planned out and done in a better way. For example, creating a website where one can read these messages and/or (un)subscribe from the emails. So if this "happy spammer" is reading this, reply here or PM me and I'll help you get this idea rolling keeping the preferences of the audiences in mind.

I think that this person deserves our gratitude. Just think about it....

Who does have extra time on their hands, nowadays?. We live in a world where hardly anyone has time for anything. And this person goes out of their way to let us know that they want to make us happy. And to tell us they are investing time and effort onto us.. The fact that this person is doing something like this is special.

The fact that this person created a whole different email account for this, is for others not to know who it is. That's the point. if they wanted us to know, they would do it from their own email address.

The fact that this person doesn't sent these emails on a regular basis shows that this person doesn't have so much time, but still manages to do something to let you know you are special.

I think whoever spoke out against this person, owes this person an apoligy. Why are we looking down at someone who is trying to invest time & effort for us? Just because we don't know who it is?

Curiosity killed the cat, what's the big deal if we don't know who it is? We can't accept anything thoughtful from strangers? Or we have a pride issue?

This person in my eyes, is extremly special & is trying to bring happiness and love to people, and thereby bringing Masiach faster...and we r rejecting it......very sad.

well you see the content of these nice emails is great, the problem is, not everyone wants it. If we would actually subscribe to these emails, that would be better.... but this is not the case here. We are receiving these emails randomly without any un-subscribe options. I think that if this person has so many nice things to write, then get a free blog, such as one offered by blogger.com ...then post the content and spread the link. For those who are interested will bookmark the link happily and can view the updates, and no need to send so many emails all the time, instead that person can focus more on the content and make it rich and interesting, so this link can be spread by visitors. I am speaking from personal experience here. I have a tech blog, albertk.com where I post interesting articles, now if anyone wants to read these posts good for them, go to the site and read it but I think that wouldn't be a good idea for me to mass email anonymously just cause I want them to read it. The point I want to make, people love to have a choice, here we are not given a choice, since we never subscribed and can't unsubscribe.

An APOLOGY? lol, and here i thought after all that time, you knew something about me...there is no chance in hell i am apologizing to this person. everytime i get one of the emails, it does NOT put a smile on my face. it pisses me off that this person is contacting me in this fashion without saying who it is or why they are doing it. the person is obviously enjoying it, otherwise when i replied saying dont send me emails, he/she would have stopped, but instead the person tried to explain why they are doing what they are doing and should continue doing it.

i do not need to be contacted by a stranger to put a smile on my face (you know this too)...i have plenty of people around me, family and friends, Thank G-d, that can do this. If this so-called stranger wants to do this, then he/she should have an "unsubscribe" option in the bottom of the email, lol...

The fact that this is being done does not bring mashiach closer to coming. This isnt an actual mitzvah s/he is doing and spreading...if she did a mitzvah that we then also did, that would be bringing mashiach closer...

my opinion is that these emails are unnecessary and i dont appreciate the secrecy...i honestly should just spam the person, and then no one will get them...but i gave the person a chance to explain and they refused... at least their explanation was not satisfactory to me

See I told you I know who this is. The only person I gave my email to from this from is to GM, but that was a bad proof. Now I have better proof, no 2 people actually make the same spelling error repetitively. In my email I got a reply from her with keyword "apoligy", then remembering that I've read this word before, I press ctrl+F here and it pointed me to GM, once again.
