optometry
although optometry school is very competitive to get accepted to... it pays well, it's above average increase in jobs available, you can open up your own private practice (making your own comfortable hours), it's a clean job, you are working in a comfortable office, you are not on call for emergencies, you don't have to go through hectic residency years
Does anyone have any feedback on this career? If you have any helpful information on it, please let me know... Thanx!

shoemaker not really, because when one thinks of shoemaker, it's usually shoe repair as well (sapozhik) and most people don't want to repair their shoes, they just might as well buy new ones.

I'm not sure I agree. I know many successful shoe makers (sabozhniki), and there are many people I know that would fix their shoes, especially the expensive shoes.
