TheGreatOne 07-05-2005, 06:58 PM Girls:
What does intelligence mean to you? How do you decide if a guy is intelligent? Bonus question: How do you compare intelligence of one guy over another?
Guys:
Same question(s) but applied to girls.

To be concidered intelligent*, a bukharian girl must fulfil these requirements:
1. Be smart
2. Be able to interact with others
3. Be able to cook and clean
4. Be able to do laundry, and have the husband's clothes ironed each morning.
5. Work
6. Be able to do all of the above stimultaneously
* college education is not required but prefered ;)
OK...I'm waiting to be shot in the behind by many of our members. In the meantime, on the serious note, I think a girl is inteligent if she is smart, humble, and has common sense. Although, I think most people who go to college are intelligent, just because someone is well educated, does not necessarily mean he/she is intelligent. The reverse is also true, someone who is not educated, can be very intelligent.

how can you describe word intelligent with word smart? How do you define word, smart?
Tssipa 07-06-2005, 12:45 AM The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge.
yea, person can be intelligent, but at the same time he can be selfish, disrespectful, insecure, arrogant, and so on and so forth.
FriendlyPA 07-06-2005, 12:52 AM how can you describe word intelligent with word smart? How do you define word, smart?
In english, I believe the word inteligent literally means smart.
На русском, инеллигентный, по моему мнению означает тот кто умно ведет себя возле людей (относится с уважением, мягко разговаривает, говорит умные вещи и с таким человеком просто интересно побеседовать).

so, then you're not really defining what intelligence means. heheh it's like saying, "gde sapogi?" "okolo tumbochki" "A gde tumbochka?" "Okolo sapogov" So the question still remains....
but i see your point.

On the contrary my dear, I have plenty to go around :D. You out of everyone should know that ;). No but really, its too typical of a topic that can be looked at from a million different points of view.. Then we'll get into the basis of language and roots of terms, if this means that then that means this.. bla bla bla. etc..
SokolinyiGlaz 07-06-2005, 09:19 AM many intelligent people are selfish, arrogant etc
lots of scientists and genius people had a terrible personality
so intelligence, in my opinion, doesnt have much to do with the character
intelligence is an ability to make logical conclusions based on informaiton given or something like that
scorpiogrl 07-06-2005, 11:36 AM I disagree. I personally met intelligent people and they were not what you described above.
Intelligent people are very educated people. They choose they words carefully when they speak, they don't throw words around, you fell at ease when you have a conversation with them, the conversation will just flows and you don't have to think of a topic to discuss. If you are around other people you won't feel embarassed to have him/her there.
Executive 07-06-2005, 01:43 PM I've always felt that a person's intelligence is directly reflected by the number of conflicting points of view he can entertain simultaneously on the same topic.
TheGreatOne 07-06-2005, 06:41 PM don't consume so much and your waist will be just fine. :)
if you can't contribute, that's fine. let those who can contribute do that. :)
on a side note, exercises in creativity are often hampered by premature judgements. :)

А кто это сказал? Очень хорошее высказывание!!!!
TheGreatOne 07-07-2005, 05:58 PM кстати, слово интеллигент отличается от значения слова intelligent.
