How do you decide if the person is confident? How do you distinguish it from arrogance [or anything else, e.g. lack of knowledge]?

Arrogrant people are marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others(according to the dictionary). I really dislike arrogant people. I find that the most ignorant people are the most arrogant. The most intelligent people are the most humble. There is a big difference between confidence and arrogance. Confidence comes from substance. Arrogance comes from ignorance. Tssipa 07-06-2005, 12:25 AM I think there are actually more than one pull of where arrogance may come from. 1-person is insecure, hence he/she has to build this facade to be able to go through the day. 2-person is so sure of him/herself, to the point where he/she does not care, and is not afraid of anything or anyone. So this person feels he/she can criticize and judge everyone and everything because he/she is perfect enough to do so. 3-and I guess ignorance is one of them as well. The hard outter shell is your defense mechanism, and the outgoing behaviour is a "facade" to throw off those who might possibly notice the deep seated insecurities, and self consciousness you possess. :D Tssipa 07-06-2005, 02:16 AM hehe, We do both know that as confident as you may seem, deep inside your'e an extremely insecure and vulnerable creature. Ahem, may I say the same about you? I think NOT, because we do know that you appease yourself by stepping/walking on other people. QueenofLilies 07-06-2005, 06:34 AM Confident people, most of the time, do not regret the actions they did. They are determined and do not question most of the aspects that have to do soley with themselves.
