I am planning to move in a couple of months from one neghborhood to another. (I havent done this previously)
What are some of the things I need to be aware of?
How would you suggest to do this so that i could avoid
headaches.
What moving company would you recommend.

My suggestion to you is, rent a van and move your things on your own~with soemones help. If you call a moving company, you will have alot of dardi sar...

When you pack, try to keep track of what goes where. This way, it will be easier to unpack and put things away in orderly and timely fashion.
When you lift things make sure you bend at your hips, knees, and ankles, and not at your lower back. Always keep your back straight, to avoid lower back pains.
I agree with Jew4life, it is better to rent a van/truck and move it your-self with friends/relatives, than hiring someone to do it. I heard movers tend to take advantage and make you pay much more than was expected.
If you will decide to do it yourself, then make sure that you measure each piece of furniture and plan on how you will fit them into the van. This will help you to use the space in the van efficiently, and save you time and money, on your trips.

I strongly recommend Mundanza, a moving company. It's owned by Spanish people. THEY ARE GREAT: FAST, ACCURATE AND NOT EXPENSIVE. They will even wrap your furniture for it not to get scratches. Too bad I don't have the number, but you can look them up in the yellow book. I actually saw a truck outside and that is how I got a number.
Good luck

Thanks for great suggestions
I will definitely be cautious about lifting stuff, caz i heard
lower back injuries are very common and dangerous.
Label all boxes and use Spaniards' truckers Mundanza.
Any other ideas?

SokoliniyGlaz, I can hook you up with a moving company if you want. Tell me if you still need it. (Russian speakers). Tell me at least one week in advance.
